Default Injector test??? HELP

On a 96, is there any way to test the injectors for leaks? I know they are under the plenum and you can not see them or hear them. I don't want to replace them if they are not the issue.

I was getting a P0306 code along with a P0300 code. Yesterday and today all I get is a P0300 code.

So far new: plugs, wires, cap, rotor, all O2 sensors, air filter, fuel pump, fuel tank.

With a fuel pressure gauge, I turn on the key and get about 52psi, but it does drop off as it sits there.

You can do whats called an injector balance test, but this requires a full feature scan tool as well as a high precision pressure gauge.

Aside from that, you can remove the upper plenum, reinstall the fuel lines into the spider, and pressurize the system. Remove each poppet nozzle from its bore and see if it drips.

Is there some place that has a full feature scanner that will do it for free or cheap? I think Pepboys does it but I am not sure if they use a full feature or like the cheap one I have.

I doubt you'll find someplace that will do this for free.

I agree. You might be able to get it done for 30-40 bucks though if you find the right shop. Those scanners are about 8 grand and about 4 to 5 bones every year to keep them updated. Or thats what my friend at the shop down the road that has one told me.
