Default Installing tv detent cable.

I am getting ready to replace this cable in my "87 K5 that has the 700R4. I pulled the old cable out of it's housing and it looks cut? suppose it broke before I bought this truck. I ordered a new one from LMC and got it yesterday. I have watched a few videos on installing this part and it talks about adjustment yet I see nothing adjustable about this assembly. It has a clip on the Throttle body end, (plastic) and an eyelet on the other. I know this hooks on the valve in the side of the tranny. (they say this is a piece of cake, I have heard that before haha). Couldn't find a post on this, any pointers or experiences yall would want to share?

Okay where is the slap your forehead icon? Lol the previous owner removed the 700R4 and put in a turbo 350... Why???? I was told the early 700's were having reliability issues. Guess this was one of them... This one works fine I just am trying to restore this truck to original running order. Guess I will find a used 700 and rebuild it someday...

Early 700R4`s were junk and very weak from the factory also used metric parts. The after market kits made them much stronger. They were similar to the turbo 200 metric minus the od.
