Default intake manifold leak

Ok, well I just discovered that my lim gasket is bad. It is leaking out on the front side if it. I was told to get the metal felpro gasket set, but being a poor highschool student making just over minimum wage I was wondering if the cheaper felpro set would do the job, or should I just get the metal frame one?

Just get the metal frame one, unless you want to do it again.

cheap parts just means you will be doin it again. go to rockauto.com and get the gaskets...when i did mine i was around 90.00 on there. internals are not the place to cut corners.

I didnt know there was a cheaper Felpro. I would say the more expensive one includes other gaskets you may not use. Ask them to tell you whats included in each set.

The cheap felpro set doesbt have the metal frame. But it does have a warranty. I got the cheap one. As long as it lasts a year I'm fine witg it. It's more of a temporary thing. I'll have more money later on, but thi needs done now so I cant wait to get it fixed.I started taking the engine apart at 8 tonight after work, that's how bad I need It done. After my toes felt like the were frozen from being out in the cold PA winter for an hour I had to stop for today. I'm plannijg on.finishing this weekend.

LOL what? Why not just pay a bit more and do it once, instead of doing it again? time=money.
even if money was the problem, i'm sure you could have found someone to spot you the couple extra bucks until the next check to get the better one, its not like its 100's of dollars.

Yeah, but then I wouldnt have enough money fpr gas till the next pay. Lol. I just started with my new job so I don't have money saved yet, or I definitely would have went with the better one. And I 100% agree. I wanted to get the metal framed one, but I just felt right now my best option was the cheaper one. This is my first time ever doing something like this, so I'm using threads from here to guide me along the process. It doesn't seem too difficult, just time consuming. I'm taking my time to label everything, so imsur it'll take a while.
