intake manifold leak

If I cut the tube, could I put a piece of copper pipe over the egr tube i would cut and use clamps to hold it together? Would it work?

I think so. Not much presuure in there. Just some hot fumes. You should try some kind of pipe sealer or liquid metal. See if you can find a compression fitting that fits that size tube. Measure the OD and go to the plumbing supply.
