Default Intake Manifold Upgraded Gasket - Recommendation?

Looking on RockAuto, from what I can see there are a few options for the gaskets kits with the upgraded metal frame.

In order of price, brand, part number, and included gaskets

$36 - Ultrapower - MS98002T - lower intake, plenum, throttle body, spider injector, distributor, valve covers
$41 - Apex - AMS3200P - lower intake, plenum, throttle body, spider injector, distributor, valve covers
$42 - Mahle - MS20138 - lower intake, distributor
$58 - Fel-Pro - MS98002T (curiously the same as the Ultrapower part number...) - lower intake, plenum, throttle body, spider injector, distributor, valve covers, EGR
$65 - Mahle - MIS20138 - lower intake, plenum, throttle body, spider injector, distributor, valve covers, EGR

All that I ever hear mention of here on the forum is the Fel-Pro brand. Has anyone ever used any of the other brand options?

I'd go with the one that's known to work, the Fel-Pro. It's worth another 20 bucks to me to know I'll never have to do the job again.

Yeah I'm not so worried about spending the little bit extra to get better quality, I was just wondering if anyone has ever used the Mahle brand possibly. Price is nearly the same, was just curious if the quality holds up to the ever so popular Fel-Pro gaskets.

Going to be ordering them shortly, have hopes that I can source an intake locally this week to replace my cracked one... so that I can slap everything back together next weekend and have the Blazer back on the road.

I've used Mahle and they are very good quality. But I have never used that particular set.

I think that I'm going to settle with the upgraded Fel-Pro gasket set.

Seems to be the general consensus on the rest of the web that Fel-Pro is the desired OEM equivalent or better for replacement gaskets, Mahle seems more aimed at performance parts and gaskets. Not looking for performance from an intake gasket lol, just reliability.

Good choice. The MS98002T also comes with the fuel line o-rings that are a must to change anytime it’s taken apart.

Yep, that is what I ordered.

Good to know. I didn't change them with my last intake gasket job. They never have leaked, but it'll be good insurance lol

Also ordered a new rubber seal for the MAP sensor for a whole $3, since the old one ripped up a little when I popped it off...

I also purchased new LIM bolts from FelPro.

What I should have done to make the install easier was find some threaded rod to use as guides for centering the intake when placing it in position.

Thanks to your advice (last year) I got the Felpro kit as well. Looks good. All disassembled and install this Friday. I cut the heads off a couple of removed LIM bolts for alignment on install. Will let the board know how that works out.

I suggest you cut slots in the ends of them so you can get them out with a screwdriver when you're done with them.
