Not sure if there's metal in oil and the sound isn't coming from valve cover
Just got a short block
After I get everything put together I'm going to change oil
I'm also going to buy new head gaskets and bolts again

Well it's about 11pm I got the wheel wells dropped alternator, compressor, fan, radiator etc off going to call it a night and hit it hard in the morning also going to run to orileys in the morning for new gaskets, bolts, oil and filter
I syphoned out the coolant so I wouldn't have to buy more again
Want to replace oil and filter completely just in case there is metal shavings etc
Well I'll wait for some feedback on what you guys think

Plan on replacing the radiator as the oil cooler will be containing a lot of metal. Metal has a way of hiding everywhere and you will be fixing this forever unless you get it all out of everywhere. Better yank that engine, completely disassemble, and have a machine shop check it out or simply replace the long block or with an entire used engine. Engines that have rattled the bearings need thorough evaluation by a machinist and and cleaning. Sorry! Been there. Done that! It's not going to be cheap.

Well I got another engine that just so happens to be a jasper everything is looking good so far I got it connected to my tranny just need to set it back in
But there's a big cylinder type connector that goes to the tranny and the male end fills up with tranny fluid somehow is this normal? We had disconnected the connector last weekend and I had the tranny sitting outside inside a trash bag. When we uncovered it was filled with fluid I dried as much as I could and blew the rest out with a compressor we let it sit like that and it started to fill up again so we cleaned it up again and reconnected the connector and checked it about 30 minutes later there was no fluid
Is this normal?
