Question L31 V8 Swap

Within the next couple weeks Ill be starting to tear down the front end of my truck and engine to help start the process for my long awaited V8 swap. I found a donor 99' Suburban and plan on pulling the L31 Vortec and 4L60E tranny and replacing it with my 2.8. Has anyone on here done a L31 swap? If so, any pointers that could be helpful. Will be doing a lift sometime after the swap to make room for some 32's i just aquired. Also, I managed to pick up a digital dash for the 1st Gen series. If that gets all wired up, and I worry about the speedo after the engine swap, shouldnt it still work with the V8?

thats going to be the biggest headache with all this is the wiring trying to figure out what can be combined with what. iw ould google around maybe youll get lucky and find someone who did the exact same build as you. they actually sell a v8 s10 manual which helped me do my swap but i just used a old carb'ed engine

I think the 87 s-10 still used a mechanical speedo, 99 Burb would be electronic.

Mine is a mechanical, unfortunately... but the 4L60 will work, the only thing is that I dont know how much rewiring i have to do. Because Ill be using the computer and harness from the Suburban, I wonder if ill be able to wire up the dash cluster now, or if i have to wait till after i get the computer in. I know JTR has the v8 swap book. I just havent seen alot of people do a L31 swap. When I do mine, i might make a guide as best as i can, to help other in the future.
