Hi, I'm new to the forum but I appreciate all the info I've found here so far. I have a 2000 4 by 4 Blazer that started spewing antifreeze the other day. It is coming from the centre of the engine and my mechanic says it is either a head gasket or the intake manifold but couldn't tell without it starting to pull parts and costing me money. He didn't want to get deeper into it unless I was certain I wanted to spend the money on it. 800-1000 for the manifold & up to 1800 for the head gasket. I would love to keep the truck but I am not sure I should spend the cash, I only paid $2000 for the truck in January. I do love the Blazers, this is my 3rd one, but I could probably find another the same age for the cost of the repair. I am willing to do the work myself but unfortunately I am a woodworker not a mechanic. Any advice, thoughts or insights would be greatly appreciated.

Da same thing happened to my truck and I can tell u right now dats its ur water pump... It might just be da casgets in between da water pump and da engine block... But I think its best to just get a new water pump... I just did mine yesterday and now she's good as new... If u have any other questions u can give me a call. Be sure to add me to ur friends list... Good luck buddy

Check your oil and see if you got anti freeze in the oil
if you do thats a sign your intake gaskets need to be replaced
also id check the hoses on the radiator and the radiator its self then check over if its coming from the water pump
