Default little id help, please

ok my sons 2000 s10 blazer was spewing tranny fluid yesterday morning, got it towed home he cleaned up the mess of spray from underneath filled the tranny and looked for leaks. we found a large crack leaking in the aluminum at the end of the transmission(would be the tail housing if 2x) where it joins to the transfer case. the question is what is this part called. I can identify it just cant label it and since I need to find one figure I better have a name for it, other than doohickey,or do dad.

thanks

The housing between the transmission and the transfer case is an adapter housing. Chevrolet, GMC, Dodge and Jeep, that use NVG transfer cases, need the adapter to bolt up to the specific transmission.
