loud clicking on start up, goes away after 45 seconds
#1
So I just found that my intake manifold gasket is leaking bad and plan to pull the intake out this weekend. However the other day I started hearing this very strange clicking and cant seem to find it. Upon start up my vehicle will click (only when engine is cool) for about 30-45 seconds then go away. The sound is similar to a baseball card in a bicycles wheel spokes. It becomes louder as engine rpms rise. It also seems like the noise is coming from underneath the compressor. I checked to make sure nothing was hitting the fan and all the pulley bearings seem to be fine. If anyone else has had this problem please let me know! Thanks!

a lot of times if youre exhaust manifold studs are broke or gasket is bad it will do that. when it warms up the manifold expands just that little bit to shut it up. make sure you dont have any broken exhaust manifold studs or see if you can black coming out of one of the gaskets
