Default Lucas Transmission Treatment

Just wondering if anyone has used this stuff before?

Does it tend to do any harm, or gunk things up?

Any testomonials, or reviews?

should it only be used on tranny's in bad shape?

any opinions or comments welcome......

I bought some but haven't used it yet because I'm afraid of overfilling my tranny fluid. It's my understanding that overfilling your tranny fluid can be harmful.

I saw an independant test of additive products, and lucas for oil was one of them. They did the test in a clear box so you can see the fluid and how well it lubricates parts. With the Lucas additive, the oil was definately being sloshed around easier and seemed to be coating parts easier (being true to it's claim), but it was full of oxygen bubbles which the tester said was not good. I'm not sure exactly why that isn't good I just wanted to pass on the info.

I have never been a fan of the *fix in a bottle* type products. My '97 Ram was hardly used during the summer while I owned it and after sitting for more than 2 days, it would take quite a bit of time before the truck would actually move in any gear... Tracked this down to the torque converter check valve. Basically, the torque converter check valve would stick open and allow all of the fluid to drain out of the torque converter.

A bottle of Lucas Trans Fix and a week of driving and it was like a new transmission. No more sticking check valve and the shifts firmed up, but were not harsh. Made me a believer, but I don't use it as PM... Just regular trans fluid changes for me and mine.

I have used this on an old 88 gmc pickup, the trans had trouble downshifting, and the fluid was scary looking, i added a bottle of lucas trans fix, and i was amazed! it shifted like a new truck! I also added a bottle to my 98 blazer, as preventative maintainence, and because it shifted hard on cold mornings, and that seemed to do the trick! I would highly recommend this product!
