The Making of a Super Reliable Blazer 4x4
So I bought a refurbished engine for my 95' full sized Blazer; all new components wiring, fuel pump etc.. and the transmission mileage is around 143k I was wondering does anyone know if you can ship a transmission off to get refurbished and if so do you know how much will it cost and how long it will take?
Nothing is screaming problems with the transmission seems to shift and run fine.
This wont be for a few years of course.
I will post pics soon of the engine.

I was just worried cause the old engine blew and wasn't sure if that would be an indication of things to come from the transmission?
I don't know how the transmission was treated by the prior owner; obviously the engine was treated badly.
The transmission pump has been replaced cause the old one went out. I'll most likely flush it for the time being, but I was just asking for future references to have a rock solid tranny.

if u really want to get it refurbished i say i would start with just checking some of your local tranny shops and see what they would charge for a rebuild on a 4l60e tranny, because after you pay for shipping u might not save much by sending it off else where. other wise if nothings wrong with it id say leave it alone.

I performed a little grinding on the spring retainer inside the 2-4 servo. Not sure what it does exactly but it was somthing that was done in one of the shift kits I bought one time and I've been doing it ever since.
Otherwise there's a .500" boost valve upgrade that increases line pressure in the pump. It would take an extra 5 minutes to swap during a filter change.
If it's not broke, don't fix it. The only problem is preventing it from breaking in the first place.
