Default Mass air flow code

Ok so i just replaced a push rod in my blazer no check engine light on first start up after the work. Just yesterday the check engine light came back on. Then last night turned back off. When the light was on i unplugged the MAF sensor, no change in rpm. Does this mean the MAF is bad?
