Default motor swap different model year problem

Swaped a 94 4.3 vortec into 93 body replaced 4.3 vortec. Will only run if your pour gas directly into injector (maybe wrong term not a mechanic.) the consensus is that the computer is bad. But we have tried both computers same problem. Fuel pump works. Advanced auto can't find a replacement computer and dealer wants $400. More than I want to spend when I don't know if its the cure. Any help appreciated.

Test your fuel pressure and let us know what the gauge reading (PSI) is.

The '94 sould work in the '93 provided you used all the '93 sensors and the '93 puter. Kyle is asking about gas pressure for a reason. Just because the pump is pumping gas doesn't mean its pumping enough pressure to operate the injectors. You need like 60psi to start and it could drop as much as 9psi while running.

Generally pouring fuel into the intake and the engien runs indicates your not getting enoguh fuel pressure. Everything else is working for it to fire and run. Do you have any codes? Is the check engine light on? If so your problem could be something else. What codes do you have?
