I have a 01 bravada that blew the head gasket. Rather than trying to change the head gasket I decided to buy another engine. The engine is a 99. Everything fit but the knock sensor. I wanted to hear the engine run and it does for about 5 seconds then shuts off. It does this after reving high. Why is this. I know a knock sensor retards the timing if it senses a knock. But it should still crank right.

 

It was pulled out of a supposedly running s10. It was already pulled when i got there
