Is my fuel pump going out?

A while ago, I was getting poor mileage. I put some fuel treatment in, and it got lots more power, but the mileage remained the same. That was a while ago, and I've put more gas in several times. Now, it occasionally idles very rough, and it acts like it's not getting gas, even if I have plenty in the tank. I thought it was the spark plugs, but when you push the gas, it runs fine and has no loss of power. I have a job as a chauffer, and the people paying me make sure that my gas gauge is always on or barely above empty unless I come up with my own money as opposed to the laughable gas compensation they give me. I heard that running low all the time could make the fuel pump go out. Could that be my problem?

I had the Pump on my 88 go out. Have you let it idle and see if it dies? When mine went out it wouldidle rough then die... it even did it when I was driving. But as you said, giving it gas got it through the hiccup. After we figured out it was my pump we could open the gas tank and listen to the pump try and kick into high gear while it was idling rough, try that before you go replacing parts. Its a very unorthadox technique, lol.
