Default Neutral Safety Switch or what?!?!?!

Okay... I just got everything back together on my 1995 s10 Blazer after doing a tranny swap.

Now I'm having a problem...

I turned the shifter to park before connecting the cable back onto it... Then I connected it but my truck wasn't starting. (AND the light wasn't on Park on the shifter on the dash)

So I disconnected the cable and turned it to neutral, the light was ON neutral on the dash, and it started...

I don't know what to do here. What could be the problem?? My cousin told me its probably the neutral safety switch.

I NEED HELP ASAP!!!! PLEASE!!!!

Have you adjusted the Park/Neutral switch so that the shift indicator shows all gears properly? That's a good place to start.

Also, the connectors on these Park/Neutral switches can often be problematic. Especially right after they have been disconnected. Check to make sure there are no bent pins in the switch.

Okay... so we got it all calibrated right... BUTTTT the shifter is tough to shift.

The cord isn't bided up anywhere or kinked or anyting. What could THIS be?
