new here please help :)
I just bought a 97 Blazer form one of my friends teachers who said the transmission was bad and needed replacing. he said that there was a day that he was driving to school and it felt as if the trans was not engaging and that at one point he could step on the gas while in drive and the truck would not go anywhere.
so anyway. we took it home and half way there it started driving on its own. i looked up what it could possibly be and there were many explanations. one of which fit all the simptoms. a bad radiator that was leaking coolant into the trans oil and vice versa. i bought a new radiator and changed the trans oil. so far so good.
the truck runs okay now but still feels kinda slow to respond (maybe it is cause im used to a BMW 5 spd manual trans, idk). also there is a slurping/sloshing noise coming from the trans fat about two and a half thousand revs. is this a sign of low fluid?
but for some quick questions.
was this the right move changing the radiator?
if so how many times should i flush the trans (fill it, drive it, drain it, fill it again ect.)?
and could i be looking at worse problems and just flushing the trans wont help me?
sorry for the lengthy explanation. hope it makes sense.
thanks
