So the blazer has been...(let your imagination fill in the blank). I replaced the water pump, thermostat, flushed out the heater core and rad.

My problem: I have no fluid movement to the heater core and uper rad hose.

My next attempt is a new rad cap. But I'm thinking that I got something clogged up in the engine block. But as the engine is not over heating at all, I'm unsure.

Any ideas or insight on my issue?? Anything will help. I'm wondering if I can flush it out in my driveway with a hose or do I need a special vacuum of some sort?

 

possibly the thermostat is upside down? You also may not have enough fluid in it. Run it with the cap off, let it fully warm up untill the t stat opens. Level should go down in the radiator. Then add more

 

Thermo in good, mushroom side up and spring down. And did the rad level when I did the water pump Monday. Engine doesn't over heat at all which is the confusing part.

 

How long do you let it run? If it does not over heat you have flow.....

 

I noticed it last night after picking up my daughter, so about a 25 min drive there and back.ive taken off the hoses and try are all dry. Not sure why. But the two heater core and the return rad hose where all dry.

 

still dont think theres enough. I would run it with the cap off watch it go down and keep filling it till its full

 

if your hoses are dry when you take them off you are very low on coolant they should always be full running or not

 

Checked the fluids with the engine running... Rad is full and reservoir is good. When the engine shuts off, the reservoir has a small bubbles coming up from the bottom. Other then that, nothing has changed.

 

I'm trying to figure out the coolant as well. Is the over flow tank suppose to be full????

 

There's a Max line about 2" from the top of the tank I believe and the add line is about 4"-5". I believe again. But engine needs to be hot when checking the level.
