When I say hotwire I mean that I am running a wire directly to the fuel pump from the battery..I don't seem to be getting power through the fuel relay/fuse panel. I can get the fuel pump to run ONLY with the hotwire and by keeping it connected to the battery. Where else should I look?

At the top of the 2nd gen section Captain Hook's 'checking pump output and leak down' thread starts with an electrical test by jumping the fuel pump by putting battery voltage to the pin by the relay in the fuse panel.

If you are not getting power to the relay (it would click on when you first turn the key on and off in a 2 second span), that means the VCM is not controlling the relay. I would suspect the ignition switch as the next likely culprit. These are prone to failure quite a bit. And I have to ask, you did check the ECM B fuse?

EDIT...and what Rusty Nuts stated.

Been doing some research on other forums and Utube. Ithink that I have a bad fuse box/panel. Gonna go to picknpull and get 1 to see if it is the problem. Other people have said that it may be a burnt wire in the second layer of circuitry between fuse/relay and plug connection in bottom of fuse block...

Check the ECM B fuse in the under hood fuse block.

Rock, ecm b fuse is good. I think that the fuse panel itself is BAD. Gonna try to get a replacement and see if that works.

The grey wire at the fuel pump connection did not show battery voltage when it was applied to the jumper pin?

The only power to fuel pump is when I hotwire it. The vehicle will ONLY stay running with hotwire constantly connected.

Ok people, I think that I MAY have found the problem... I replaced the underhood fuse block, plugged in all the connections(pigtails) got got in it and fired right up. Going to let it sit for a few hours and try it again. I'll let you guys all know what the verdict is for sure in a day or two.

Well... That seemed to be the problem.. I changed the UNDERHOOD fuse block with a new(used) one and it remedied the no power to fuel pump issue. Seems like that MAY have been the issue all along. Will repost on this thread if any more problems arise... THANKS for everyone's input on fixing the problem...
