Default Odd no spark from dizzy but strong from coil

I have a 01 4.3 wich just randomly died on me the other night. Checked all the obvious such as spark and fuel. 66 psi fuel pressure. And good spark from coil to dizzy. But that's where it ends. I have no spark except to cylinder 4 which is strong blue and jumping at least an inch. The rest of the cyl are gettin no spark at all. Has brand new cap and rotor. Recently replaced the whole dizzy do to worn out drive gear. New cam sensor too. Every thing was replaced prior to break down except cap and rotor was put on after.

Bad cap and/or rotor...? There really isn't much else that could explain it. Has the cap shifted to one side somehow?

Nope. That was my first thought too was cap and rotor. But I replaced it with a new gm one. Still the same. And it's on correct.

There has to be something amiss in the distributor if the spark is not getting through...

Well what if it was sparking inside but not when the button isn't lined up with the **** in the cap. Is that possible.

It shouldn't hit on one terminal (#4) and not on the others. That is the perplexing part.

I know that's why I'm at wits end trying to solve it. What tells the coil when to spark. Because it's getting a steady strong spark but apparently at the wrong time. It just died on me instanly as if you turned off the key. No warning or nothing.
