Default Oil Filler spot/tube gromet

I need help. I have a Chevy blazer and my oil filler spuot or tube leaks. I was told to buy a grommet to replace. I bought the grommet from advance and I need help installing it. I was told to take the spot off and it would be easy to put in. Step 1 take the spout off. then it would be pliable so I could mash the tube in then it would be easy to push back in with the grommet in place??? Does this make sense? I am not sure. I was told that the spot would be pliable. But its not it is made of hard plastic. Any help to fix this would be great.
