Default Oil leaking from complex looking thing

I have a 99Blazer LT 4.3UK export model, I was changing oil filter and noticed oil was leaking out from a joint in the casing of the thing (no idea what it might be called) that the filter screws onto. It is in front of the engine but behind the rad and also has 2 large water pipes connected to it, also thereare two other pipes going into it that I suspect go to the transmission. I am wary about dismantleing it as I don't really know what it is, will oil, water, trans fluidspew out ifI split the casing or worse.
Any help greatly appreciated
Andy

It is the remote oil filter housing. Is it possible that you could snap some pictures of the affected area?

Go to photobucket.com, make a profile, and you have an online album. Upload the pics, double click on them, then click resized and reduce them to 640x480, then copy the url and paste it in the message like this: .

Thanks for the tip, here are pics of the offending item, the red arrow is where the oil leaks out. [IMG]http://s208.photobucket.com/albums/bb320/mainsail2030/[IMG]
The pipes with the pink marks are transmission pipes and the blue marks are the oil feed pipes.

Wow.. That is entirely different than the US trucks... I'm not sure what those large hoses are for, but it looks like it might be leaking out of the one shown directly above the smaller lines.

I have entirely different theory... I think the oil leak is above the 'complex looking thing' and its running down.

There is a gasket where it bolts together... that could be leaking.
