Oil pan spec's..Help asap
Whats the tourque spec on the alum oil pan its a 96 blazer with a 2000 motor in it but i just nned to know the specs cant find anywhere

Did you ever confirm that the motor is really out of a 2000?
Oil pan - 18ftlbs.
Sequence:
If you are removing the pan and reinstalling it, please note that the pan must be installed with the engine loose from the transmission and a straight edge must be used to assure that the pan is properly aligned with the transmission mounting surface.

ya its outta a 2000 i decided to change that crap main seal with a new one but i dont like how the new main seals dont got that steel spring inside those stock ones suck soo im gettin a diff one made up..the motor is out of the truck soo i will make sure its good to go with the tranny..what about the intake bolts u got a diagram for those to lol

Oh another thing do u guys recomend puttin any silicone on the pan gasket anywhere its one of those rubber ones that fit in the groves..Do i need a lil silicone on the corners also for the intake do u guys still put a lil silicone around the water jackets and bolts or the rubber on the intake gaskets is good enough thanks

No silicone needed for the oil pan. Just make sure that all areas are nice and clean.
For the intake, you should not need to use any sealer, but if the intake or head is pitted around the coolant passage, you may want to just in that area for added insurance. Also, if you are replacing the intake manifold gaskets, use the updated metal framed gaskets.

*EDIT* - To include intake manifold tightening specs.
Intake Specs:
Lower Intake Manifold Bolts:
First Pass in Sequence - 27 inlbs
Second Pass in Sequence - 106 inlbs
Final Pass in Sequence - 11 ftlbs
Upper Intake Manifold Studs/Bolts:
First Pass - 44 inbls
Final Pass - 80 inlbs
For this information and much more, a Haynes or Chiltons manual is a must. For a much better investment, if you are planning on keeping this truck around for quite a while, a FSM is a much better choice. You may need to get one for your truck and the appropriate manual for the motor (once you figure out exactly what year of truck it came out of).
