oil pump

Default oil pump

I have a 91 s10 blazer and need to replace oil pump. Is the oil pan the only thing i need to remove

Depends, is it 4wd?

What makes you believe the pumps bad? remember,oil pumps do not provide pressure. It just pumps oil and the tolerances of bearings etc creates the pressure. Worn out bearings etc will cause a low oil pressure problem.

Ok i had a fluttering gauge replaced sending unit fixed that. Now oil pressure drops to 0 after driven about 20 miles cold and about 10 miles warm. I just figured a 30 dollar oil pump would be worth a shot before pulling engine out. Agree?

Shut it off and turn back on it's back to normal reading for a few miles

So can anyone tell me what all needs removed. And also is the oil pump a possibility?

yeaaa maybe. but chances are motor is due a rebuild. let us know how it goes.

Will do. Just have to figure out what all needs to come off lol. Engine only has 106000 miles so hope it is just oil pump was hoping to wait till we move to pull engine out

to remove the oil pump in a 4wd you have to remove the engine anyways.
