over revving?

Greetings again, is it possible to over rev the 4.3 vortec in my '99 S10 blazer 4x4 with auto tranny?

All help is greatly appreciated.

blazen_red_4x4 will become famous soon enough

Well the computer will limit the RPM's, so you're not going to get it up to 8-9k... But, sustained RPM's over the red-line RPM range will certainly do harm to any engine...
