Default RE: overdrive?

The gear ratio. Drive (3rd) is direct 1:1 while overdrive (4th) is something like 0.7:1 (working from memory here).

I think there have been a few posts awhile back about the 700R4/4L60/4L60E gear ratios...

Default RE: overdrive?

Just a stupid note, but the first time my dad drove my truck ( a 3 hour drive to my uncle's cabin), he decided to highway it in overdrive. After an hour we stopped at a red light and the damn thing startedjumping then shut off. We started it back up,but it kept "jumping" and making a "scraping" noise, until we finally pulled into a gas station. Waited five minutes, jumped back in, and it was fine. We just decided to drive in "drive" instead of overdrive after that. Any idea on what the problem was?

Oh, and almost forgot, 95 chevy blazer.
