Post overheated badly.. please help..

hi every one, this is my first time posting on here. i need every ones help,

i own a 1998 chevy blazer with every single option from the factory (has the 4.3 vortec)
it had a little coolant leak and i let my brother drive it to work and he called me saying it was overheating, i told him NOT to drive it and you kinda can tell where im getting from this, he drove it home, well half way befor the coolant lines gave up and the engine died at a stop light. well i got it towed home and was cheeking it over the next morning and i looked at the coolant temp senor on the engine melted from it getting so hot and coolant and oil is mixing...

my question is, is it worth putting a new engine in it? it has like 199-202 thousand on it. (dash read 180 then jumped to 110 then back to 190 witch i bought it at) its in great shape but i just don't know if its worth putting a new engine in it or doing a v8 swap in it. it is all original and it ran great i can get a engine for about 300$ with lower miles (family can get good deals) it needs some work (sun roof rust hole and trans shift sensor) but it has all leather heated seats and the works.. any help is better the none

keep in mind im 16 (don't get me wrong i am VERY smart with engines expecaliy the vortecs so i can swap it my self) thanks for any help..

If it was me I would swap the engine, find a decent used (or new) engine and start fresh. If you have the means then go for it.
You also might want to check your tranny too since the cooler lines to it are in the radiator.

Coolant mixing in the oil? Do I understand that right? If thats the case, coolant in the oil is the kiss of death for those motors. Definitely replace it.

if you can get a new bullet for $300, you would be dumb not to. i would get the new motor and rebuild the trans. then you basically have a brand new car. fix the other things wrong with it and keep it till you are about 22 or so.

Wouldn't necessarily need new heads could just be blown head gaskets but even the heads were cracked id check with machine shops sometimes they can be fixed....because hell if your gonna.do heads hell might as well do a V8 swap just my opinion....but yes it can be rebuilt just very much cleaning
