Unhappy Please tell me its not tranny issues

So driving home from the firehouse my Rpm Skyrocketed even tho my foot didnt move. so i took it off so it would rev down. now my 99 zr2 blazer seems to have 0 *****. i took it on the main road to see if it was just 1st or something but every gear seems to be just as bad with no pickup to it. also it make a crunch when in reverse every couple feet.

So your saying it is slipping? Does it shift through all gears? Have you checked the fluid level? Is the fluid burnt?
I know I'm asking more questions than you but more info is needed to help you.

I'm thinking you got yourself a sun shell that's stripped (hugely common on 4l60e's) If you replace that, you're gonna be deep in the tranny anyways, might as well rebuild it completely or even look for a good deal on a "new to you" transmission. Just my .02. Hopefully someone can chime in and spread some knowledge!

Blazer guy - It seems to shift without an issue it will go up and down through all the gears it just feels like you took all the power from it. And the fluid level is fine it almost looks a little high and the fluid is nice and red. i checked it again the following day so i could actually see what i was doing and it looks almost looks like there is metal dust in it so i am assuming its prob my tranny giving me the issue

Lilpudge - It only really Hesitates when i put it in reverse it takes it a little while to actually engage.

I agree with sunshell, when he says he feels a crunching sound that I what I think of.There is a stronger one that replaces the factory weak one.
