Default Possible misfire

I just purchased this blazer today and when I test drove it all seemed good but as soon as I drove it 55 miles home I ran into issues. The "service engine soon" light flashed I think 4 times went steady and did it again. I did reset the computer by disconnecting the battery and so far the light hasn't turned back on but I've only driven it a few miles. Now when I hit the gas from being stopped it has no power and is sputtering. It happens for a minute or so then seems to run ok. I think it maybe a misfire, fuel injectors, or just needs a major tune up. Need some help?

Smile Welcome here

How about telling us some info about your Jimmy, like what year it is and if its 1gn or 2cnd gen.
Also when purchasing a used vehicle that you know reltivly nothing aboutits always a good idea to have it tuned up.After that if you have any other problems we can take it to the next step.

Default ok

start by changing plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor if then if it nees them.I cant speak from experience but everyone swears by using a AC delco cap and rotor.
If that doesnt help we can give your more suggestions to try.
Also are getting any check engine lights or service engine lights?

I am planning on doing a tune up on it this weekend and yes I am getting a service engine soon light. Actually last night the blazer was running a lot better and the light turned off but this morning on my way to work it started running rough again and the service light is back on.

Flashing means random cylinder misfire! Use ac delco plugs and cap

Ok thanks joshs4x4 for explaining the flashing service light. I am taking it to a friend of mine repair shop tomorrow to have him look at it and just tell me all that's needs work from top to bottom. He is going to scan for codes and let me know what's up. Thanks for all the tips really appreciated.
