a 2000 chevy s10 blazer engineinto a 1986 chevy s10 blazer.?
i personally dont think so cause its a 2000 engine and it has more computer techn.

We put v8s in them all the time why not a 4.3? You just have to swap the computer,harness, and tranny out.
Another option would to be to put a 3.4 out of a 93-95 camaro. It bolts in where your old motor was, just use your 2.8 front cover and intake.

yes you can but you pritty much would need ecm, wiring, t-case, etc.

Why not just go big with it and drop a v8 in it!!!

carberated v8 either 350 or 305, I would definetly go with a 350

well i asked the closest mechanic near me. and hes like my friend that works here with me put a 350 in his chevy s10 pickup and he says his car is more in the shop then on the road.

Either he is a mechanic that likes to tinker, or he is a terrbile mechanic and can't get it right, or his rig is a POS and needs lots of work. I guess what I am saying is that there are tons of reasons to be in the shop all the time.
there are a bunch of S10 with V8 in them, there is even a site dedicated to it.
As for your original question. Droppinga 4.3 or V8 in is the same amount of work. The 3.4L engine is your most affordable upgrade. GM even sells a 3.4L crate enine for this swap. They no longer sell the 2.8L engine. The 3.4L is a 2.8L bored out and produces 20% more power. A 4.3 will push about 50% more power then your 2putt8.
