I'm getting the code evaporative emission system flow during non purge. I only get it from time to time at start up. It also smells of raw gas near the back of my truck. Any ideas for the noob? Purge valve vent valve fuel pressure sensor? Idle air control valve for the raw gas smell? What should I tackle first?

It likely is a problem with the evap valve located at the back of the truck (just ahead of the spare tire if 4-door and on the driver side frame rail if 2-door). It isn't all that bad to replace, but that all depends on how much debris is around it.
