question about neutral safety switch

In that case your 700R4 TV Cable (not a detent cable) should hook up no problem. You will still need some method to control torque converter lock up, especially if you plan to drive this thing on the highway. Without it, you will fry your tranny.

I have the kit for the tcc. I just have to wire it. My tv cable isn't even a problem, right now, the only problemI am having is the neutral safety switch.

You could swap the steering column to a pre '95 version and the switch will be on the column. You will need the shift linkage. '95 and later GM started using a cable instead of the old style shift linkage. You just need the parts from a donor truck, grab everything from teh column to the tranny, including the bracket the pivot ball mounts too.
