Default Replace Spider injectors??

I have to replace the intake manafold gasket 160,000 miles Would it be worth it as preventive maintenance to replace the spider injectors while the intake manifold off. The only reason would be saving time and labor down the road to pull it again. Or is a visual inspinspection of the injectors good enenou.

I was in yoru same situation at 130k miles with my 1999. I went ahead and replaced mine with the upgraded model. The upgraded injectors are only appropriate for maybe 98+.

Did you notice an improvement with gas mileage?

Can't say I did but I also have a failing O2 sensor that I think is mucking up the computer calculations. Also, it has not been in a whole year yet and my driving habits in the winter and fall are very different than the spring and summer. Also the gas blend might be different.

My figuring was that after almost 20 years, replacing the spider was more of a one-time preventative maintenance that might also give me better mileage.

I would for sure if you planned on keeping it, would also do the plumbing lines into the intake to the spider.. again only if your going to keep it.
