replacing clutch and now stumped...!
i have a 98 2 door 5 speed, clutch went out, bought a clutch and all the goodies, well put my flywheel, pilot bearing, and clutch on and when i went to install my transmission i could not get it to line up with the motor for nothing, if i would get it close my shifter stub would hit the floor board and not let me move it anymore i tryed so many ways and nothing..... anyone ever run into this problem that can point me in the right direction, thanks
All I can say is they wont want to mate unless the bellhousing is parallel to the engine. It has to be even. You used a clutch alignment tool when putting the clutch in right? It should slide in without excessive effort. Did you make sure the clutch fits the input shaft? I've gotten the wrong parts before. Also while your still at this step, if you took the flywheel off use lock-tite on the bolts. I have seen too many start backing off.

yeah i second the clutch allignment tool. even then i rarely ever get lucky where the trans just slides right in. one thing i always try to do too is leave the trans in gear so you can kinda spin the tailshaft around while putting in to try and mesh the gears up
