Rough idle, hesitation upon acceleration
Last night on my way to work, my 02 trailblazer LT, 4wd, decided to have a slight hesitation when i started slowing down for a stop sign and then a random miss when accelerating at 55 mph up a slight incline. After thinking pretty hard i realized the plugs never been changed and the coils might be bad. Im not 100% sold the coils are bad but did read that they should be changed at 100k miles alongbn with the plugs. The SES light did not turn on at all, yet.
Im currently at 145k and was gonna change the plugs. I just need to know what brand coil packs i should look into or if it even matters what brand.

Update-- Ses light finally showed tonight on my way tonwork, just as i was accelerating to get onto tue highway. It flashed 3 or 4 times. Then shut back off. I saw 3 flashes for certain. Which tells me its a p300 code random misfire, but it could also be a plugged cat if i remember correctly. After it shut off again i began smelling rotten eggs. Ill hook my reader up in the morning and see if it stored anything.
So now, i ask, if it is a plugged cat, how do i fix that without thinking buying a new cat?

Thursday on my way home from work, the hesitation got really bad and so did the misfire. Luckily i was smart enough to hook up my bluetooth obd2 scanner and loaded hp torque before leaving work just incase. Turned out the code it threw was specific, p301. The light did not turn on though, i had to look at pending (inverified) codes to find it. (At a stop light and pulled into a gas station of course. Never try to text and drove or diagnose while driving. Its not just for your safety but every one elses also.)
So i stopped at advance, bought a set of plugs, changed them out right there and it worked for a minute. The old plugs were autolite platinums btw, burnt to hell and the #1 plug was cracked. The coil on #1 looked melted at the bottom, probably due to a cracked plug, so i swapped it with #2 to verify and sure enough the code changed from p301 to p300. Confirming that the specific coil was bad and thankfully i was still at advance, so i just ordered another coil online, used a % 30 off discount code, walked in and grabbed it. Changed that coil out and everything is running much smoother. Gas milage even increased drastically.
And the rotten egg smell, i discovered was just my fart. At work i farted and it smelled the same. Big relief to me, bad news for coworkers.. hahaha
