Default Rough idling and Shifting problems

Hey everyone, i have a 1995 blazer (base model) with a 4.3L V6 and it rough idles and sometimes has problems shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. It revs really high before it shifts. Another issue, about a month ago i had problems (cat was totally shot as well as the O2 sensors and egr, i was getting terrible performance and mpg) and i replaced the catalytic converter, egr valve, O2 sensors, plugs/wires. For about a week the problems went away then the SES light came on and i could hear the cat squeaking (only when warmed up). Still having problems i decided to remove the intake plenum and i found that the passenger side of the plenum has gas deposits/carbon washed away. Is this the spider assembly that need replacing or is it possible to get by with a distrib. cap and rotor?
any help is appreciated
thanks

got it all sorted out, my 6th cylinder was misfiring because of loose plug wires. however im getting a SES code P0700, supposedly transmission control system malfunction. any ideas about how to deal with this? also im getting code P1100 MAF sensor intermittent, but the 95's dont have a MAF. not sure whats setting it off.

i have the same exact codes on my 95 S10 (P700 and P1100) but they list as pending codes and not hard codes..... this must be a 1995 thing only. i cant figure out what they are either...
