Default RPM question

I just installed a Tach in my 96 blazer 4x4 and I want to set my redline, at what RPM does the redline start at?

Yeah it shows red at 5500 and partly red at 5000 up. If I recall it has a fuel cutoff at 5300 so you dont over rev though so the red line isnt really red.

Dunno 'bout that. According to my tach, at WOT my transmission shifts at ~5300.

Yup it aint 5300 I knew it was in the 5000s just looked it up and its 5600, not that you should be getting the engine to this rpm anyway. I would say if your auto shifts at 5300 you have some issue. Mine shifts between 2500-3500.

Yep, in normal usage it does shift in that range. As I said, the 5300 shift was at WOT. I was running short-passes and only allowing the trans to up-shift one gear. It's certainly not where you would want it shifting on a continuous basis.
