Red face shift solenoid/s (hopefully)

95 lt 4wd: SO, I've done a bit of reading here on the forums, and found simaler issues, but close enough to be sure its just a shift solenoid. to start- if I try to take of in drive, it stays in third, 2nd, is second, and 1st gear is second to. when I shift into OD I cant feel a shift, but from OD to Drive, It feels like it trys to shift but rpm stays the same, so OD is 3rd to? damn things an automatic and wont shift by itself.. haha, not sure if I made any sense at all, I tried! all other gears are fine.

well first of all its a 4l60e trans its just an electronic 700r4 basically few differences....now with your problem on your dash it should read D 3 2 1 meaning if you put it in 1 it is in MANUAL low gear it will not come out of it until you shift to 2 MANUAL second(for idiots unless the motor reaches high rpms then it will go to second) then you shift to 3 that is drive....The D is overdrive 4th gear some call it...shift solenoids sound like their fine to me however the big plug on the side of the trans if it loses 12 volts it will automatically go into basically fail safe mode to get some where an park it (it stays in third gear to move) so may need some more troubleshooting on that one

Well I have it OD D 2 1, There are no first or forth is what I meant. Even manually put in 1st or 2nd are both second gear, and d and od and only third gear. going 60-65mph even in OD rmps read 3grand+

Idk what started it, but the trany fuse blows right away, witch is why the transmission computer went in limp mode, and even if I did replace both shift solenoids, and replaced the fuse, same thing would happen, have no clue where to start on this.

my point on this is if you put it in OD then from a dead stop your takin off in first gear then bam second then bam third then bam overdrive then if you happen to feel another "shift" that the torque converter locking up....if the fuse has blown bam back to my last comment if it loses 12 volts (fuse blows) then limp mode is set in...your truck by what it says on the dash 1 is manual low,2 is manual 2nd however from a dead stop it will take off in 1st then shift to second and D is 3rd but it runs 1st gear to 3rd because its not a manual valve body...you need to find out why the fuse is blowing because that is ultimately what is causing limp mode and not givin you first or second or overdrive...once that is solved then we can move on to other diagnosis...(my dad and me have been doin transmissions for 51 yrs combined 21 for me 30 to 35 for him just offering my advice...keep in touch hopefully I can help on this problem more as it gets resolved hopefully

So took a closer look at my fuse box, the one for the trans is loose. My guess to why its blowing, so I temporarily put a 30amp reset fuse in it to see what would happen, and trans shifted fine but the fuse kept trying to blow, so hopefully it’s easy to replace the fuse box itself?
