RE: shuts off while driving wont start
Hi azari,
Can't help you with this because I think we have the same problem.
My 4.3 Liter(non-vortec), 91' S-10 auto 4X4 runs for about 2 or 3 miles and then just flat out stops. It has been a slowly accumulating effect. Every once in a great while, over the past 2 years, my ride would stop. It would then immediately re-start. It is taking longer between re-starts. From instant to 20 minutes to 45 minutes to 1 and 1/2 hrs. and now to about 4 hours before it will re-start......and then run for another mile or 2. Overnight sit and it will start and run another mile or 2 to repeat the process. I live in a small CA town which helps, but boy is it frustrating.
I have switched out the fuel filter, battery, and the temp. guage sending unit, to no avail.
Have you had any luck figuring it your prob.?

Well, I replaced the coil....didn't work. I then replaced the ignition module(located in the distributor, under the cap, and held in by 2 screws)...and voila! that worked. My ride doesn't refuse to start and now doesn't just die on me out of the blue.
Hope this helps anyone.
