Trans Filter may be Clogged ? Sounds Like it is not getting the proper amount of fluid throught out the transmission all the time. If it has been Clogged for awhile it may have already caused internal problems. Hope this Helps

How many miles are on the tranny and when was the last fluid change?
Could be a shift solenoid acting up... I would start by servicing the tranny.

Thanks guys im hoping a tranny service will do it.The tranny supposedly only has 10,000 miles since rebuild! And it looks like its been out. I know the motor is a Jasper 355 and it was at the same time so the last owner told me. Slippy shifty-picsfrommyiphone-014.jpg

I have the same problem on my 98 (out of no where and not all the time it will slip like its in neutral from 1st to 2nd [but not all the time]), changed my tranny fluid/filter and used dextron 6 with no luck, i was told it could be a TPS but im thinking a tranny rebuild?! Anyone else have a idea or possibly the same problem with a fix? ~130k

Default Slippy shifty fixed

They spent 6 hours at tranny shop and found the problem was a bad speed sensor and it burned up due to a short in my dash cluster. Wow! thats something i would not have found on my own.I almost spent 2000.00 on a new tranny and it only $$$78112 to get fixed HaHa

Glad you found the problem. I find it surprising that you did not have other symptoms like a jumping speedometer, although I think on the older models the DRAC would have buffered out a certain amount of VSS dropouts.
