Hello all,
First time poster, however you all have unknowingly solved some of my other issues in the past. So thanks for all your prior help.
Blazer is an 03 4x4 with 97k miles.
Recently it has been very sluggish to start moving from stop, almost as if it is trying to start in 2nd gear. Engine is not revving, no grinding. Once i get up to 10-15 MPH or so, all is fine. No issues shifting or downshifting to accelerate. It is better when i put in 1, although still not normal. It gets slightly better as car warms up
Trans fluid level is good, although could use a change and i checked all associated fuses as I heard somewhere it could be as simple as that.
Service engine light came on shortly after the problem began.
Took it to a trusted shop, and since service engine soon light was on they hooked it up to the reader. I stupidly did not get all the codes, but he mentioned the solenoid and something else, and basically said, you need to rebuild your trans. That seemed like a race to judgement to me, so I'm taking it somewhere else tomorrow. BTW - quoted me $2.4k for fully rebuilt trans w/ 2 yr/24k warranty.
Just wanted to see if anyone else has experience similar issues and what solve may have been. Just doesnt seem like a rebuilt trans is needed if once out of first it drives perfect.
Thanks in advance.
Eddie
