The plugs are extremely worn. I wouldnt put them back in seeing as how its so much fun to replace them.

The plugs will not cause excess smoke from the tail pipe. BUT they are a great indicator of whats going on! Those plugs are not the same plug. They are burning differently from each other so something IS going on. I bet you are loosing coolant. Just not alot. I am thinking head gaskets.

Yeah, I just replaced them all. Should have done it awhile ago. It runs better but still smokes occasionally. Is it possible to have a head gasket problem where the coolent leaks in to the pistons but not the oil?

Abosolutely! I hope you remember which cylinder each plug came out of. Depending where the haed gasket fails determines where the coolant goes. Doesnt always have to go into the crankcase.
