Default Sometimes it really is the obvious . . .

Just finished the re-install after engine rebuild in my 95 Blazer. Suddenly no speedo, transmission won't shift out of first. Sounds like a Vehicle Speed Sensor, right?

But why would the sensor, at the other end of the tranny go bad exactly at the time I'm doing an engine swap? I cannot believe it, spend hours on the web trying to find another explanation.

Finally I pull the shield and start to work on the VSS when low and behold I notice the connector is completely disconnected! Apparently in the midst of all that pulling on the wiring harness to swap the engine I pulled it out. Had to splice in another 8" of wire to get it to reach.

Remind me to check the obvious even when there doesn't seem to be any reason for that part to fail..

The most dangerous thing in the world is a man who thinks he knows something. and he's wrong.
