Default Spark at one wire but not the other

Here we go again. Changed the plugs and wires due to a very bad miss only a week later to have the truck again just shut down and not start. heres the fun part. Replaced Cam sensor, cap, rotor, wires and plugs. now i have spark at #4 wire but none at number 2. only DTC was for the Evap system. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

What brand cap and rotar did you use when you changet them? if you used anything other than AC Delco or Delphi then the problems you described can happen. Even right out of the box.

X2, from personal experience. The ones with aluminum terminals are garbage, dist should have brass colored terminal. I had one that would re-corode after literally hours, put the old brass one back on and fired up every time. killed a bunch of batteries too, i thought it was a problem with the battery. Turns out it was litterly sucking the bat dry just to make a little spark.

If the truck sat longer then a few hours it wouldnt start (brand new redtop). Now with the same battery and my old(delco) scratchup/burnt a bit brass cap back on it fires up every time.

the new one i replaced with the old one was from autoZone i believe.

ok tore the cap back off and found the button was the issue. Ac Delco and it was arcing down the side and burnt through the plastic part and was grounding into the distib. which would explain the miss i still had after replacing those parts to fix the miss. all covered under warranty tho.
