Default Starter

I am now having starter issues. Yesterday I went to start my truck and nothing happened just one click. Batter is new and I test the ignition it works fine. I tried putting it neutral and checking the safety switch still nothing. Engine is not locked up and I could turn it. So I hit it a couple times and took it off and cleaned it up. Put it back on works great. Took it to autozone and they tested it and said everything is fine. Then this morning the battery was to low and wouldn't start it. So i jumped the truck got the batter charged up and when I went to start it it just went back to doing the one click thing again. Is the starter motor just going bad and it just happened to go out again on me this morning? Or could it be something else? Thanks everyone

If you got a click, then power went to the starter motor from the ignition switch, it just didn't get going. Sure sounds like the starter is at fault. You could test the voltage at the starter's main power wire (large wire) while you hit the key to make sure that you don't have a problem with the fusible link between the battery & starter.

Hey thanks for the reply. Ends up it was a wiring problem from the battery. I did take the starter off and clean it and mess with it thinking it was faulty. Got lucky on this one. Thanks again
