Starting issue
Hello, I have a 01 blazer that was running good until the air pump check valve on the passenger side went bad. Now I’m having problems getting it started. Once I do get it fired up it runs good. Can the bad check valve cause starting problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated

It is not likely that a bad AIR system check valve would cause hard starting symptoms, but this isn't something to let go. If the check valve has failed and is allowing exhaust gases out through the valve, it can destroy a lot of things in the vicinity including a fairly major engine wiring harness.
For a hard start issue, I would start by testing to see if the fuel pressure and leak down rate are in spec. There is a tech article to help you through this task and most autoparts stores will rent out a fuel pressure gauge.
If the fuel system checks out ok, then it is possible that there is a problem with the ignition system (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, etc.).

Hard start
It actually did fail while I was driving and it melted the wiring harness, I did fix that and not when I crank it, it tries to start but won’t after doing that for a couple minutes it fires up and runs smooth like nothing is wrong
