Cool Suggestions

Good day all!

Its been a couple of years since I haven't visited

If you don't mind me asking a couple of questions:

I decided to park my 95 4.3 Blazer in order to give it fountain of youth.

My biggest problem was the engine heating! Can you give me any suggestions of the problem please?
Here's the history: Intake blew.Replaced lower and upper gaskets, thermostat & Radiator. Afterwords, Unfortunately, after a couple of hours driving, it seems it is still heating up
Lucky me, my friend works at a part auto shop.I get my parts 'garage price". I am going to pick up a new water pump + thermostat(the one that opens up at lower temp) today. Any more parts that could help the cooling?

Now that the engine is free'd up, any suggestion of more parts I should replace please?

I know the oil sensor switch is faulty cause the gauge is going crazy at stop signs, all wires-sparks-rotor-cap rotor are new...but except that, what else should I change...hum...A good maintenance is what I am looking for!

BTW: What's up with the paint on these models!!! All of my clear is gone on the hood(almost lost one of my hood scoops), and now the fenders are also starting to peal off the clear coating!?!

Many thanks in advance,

Martin

Keep the standard temperature thermostat especially if your '95 has the OBDII computer system.
Before buying a new oil pressure sending unit check the pressure with a manual gauge to verify that the factory unit is faulty.
I haven't seen a problem with paint on Blazers that have been kept waxed and not in constant exposure to sun and weather (that'll kill just about any paint finish).

Thanks for that rriddle3!

I guess I will return my thermostat tomorrow then and check out these readings for my oil pressure.

I guess I am not very lucky then for that paint. The truck was always waxed and oiled yearly.

Cheers,

Im not sure but that might be part of the problem. It should be done more often than once a year. Mine gets washed and waxed every 2 weeks

Indeed strange. I asked a expert (he's in paint for old muscle cars) and told me GM had these issues back in the old days...must be the weather in Canada ..loll
