Swapped trans, not shifting past 2nd! :S

Well now i've had a diagnosis on the car. It seems it threw a fault code for torque converter circuit. They said i had to get it rebuilt, the 3-4 clutches was gone... Well, that sucks 
I've got hold of another trannie now.
Is there a chance in hell that the tcc solenoid is gone ?
