T-case switch, go with GM or dorman?
#3
I like Dorman for many things, but the t-case switch is not one of them. The three prongs were too small, so they didn't fit tightly enough into the rubber cap thing and there wasn't enough vacuum to engage the front diff actuator. When I pulled out the switch to add duct tape around the prongs (sealed it well, actually), the alignment tab was broken off. Made it a little more challenging to put the cap on right.
It also failed quite quickly, but I did not fix the leaky t-case input seal and left the t-case over-full with fluid...so fluid contamination was going to happen no matter what kind of switch I put in there. But the GM lasted much longer with an over-full t-case.

Not sure if it makes a difference but I noticed Dorman makes two versions of the same switch. There is the number listed above which is their HELP line. The other has a part number of 600500. This is the one I recently purchased and should have installed today. So far I've been through 2 of the 49315 HELP parts in the past 3 years so I'm hoping for better results from this one. Dorman website shows 600500 as an OEM replacement. I believe the price was the same or cheaper on Rockauto than the HELP part.
I'm also dropping the transfer case to replace the seal which is part of the problem.
